Watch out for Chemicals! How To Find Natural Beauty Products

Natural products are all the rage these days as they claim to be just as effective as chemical based products without the dangers associated with them. I personally ADORE natural products but finding those that live up to their promises can be somewhat of a chore. Some beauty products claim to contain “natural” or organic ingredients but really aren’t all they are hyped up to be. Whenever a trend gets really popular, like natural products are these days, there will be greedy companies looking to cash in and cut every possible corner to turn a profit. So how do you go about finding amazing natural beauty products that really deliver on their promises? Here are a few tips.

  1. Scour the ingredient list

A lot of the time when it comes to buying beauty products whether it be at a mall or in your local pharmacy, consumers make the mistake of making impulse buys. Lots of times we’ll get distracted by colorful cover art or some design that really catches our eye. Remember, advertisers are betting on this! You need to really take the time to read the ingredient list carefully and ensure that every thing on the list truly is natural and organic. The really good brands will tell you where each ingredient comes from in nature. (maybe add certain ingredients that are good to look for)

  1. Look for reviews

This is probably the best advice on here. Check out reviews online and you’ll get a great sense of how effective a product is and whether it really is all the advertisements make it out to be. Check reviews on multiple different sites on the Web and make sure to read the good and the bad! In just a few short minutes you should get a really good idea of how the products works and if stuff inside is good for you or not.

  1. Check for a seal

There are multiple seals you can look for when checking out beauty products. Products with the seal from the Natural Products Association are composed of at least 95% natural ingredients. There is also the USDA organic seal, EcoCert which is an independent European group, Demeter, and more.

  1. Listen to family and friends

Some of the best beauty advice and product finds have come from my close knit group of family and friends. These are the people you can really trust and who you know won’t be just trying to get your money. Also consider going to a local “natural” speciality store and asking around there as to what they recommend.

  1. Check out your kitchen cupboards

If you’re trying to go all natural and save money at the same time, look no further than your own kitchen! Here you will find all sorts of truly natural ingredients, many of which that are time tested and have worked for generations upon generations of women. So bust open those kitchen cabinets and go all natural while saving money!

Finding all natural beauty products may seem daunting at first, but with the tips listed above and a willingness to look beyond the norm, you’ll surely find a wealth of products that suit your individual needs.
